Brittney Adams — Hospital Manager
Brittney has been the Hospital Manager at Oaks Veterinary Hospital since 2015. She previously worked as a veterinary technician and has her certificate in Veterinary Practice Management from St. Petersburg College. Her ultimate goal is to obtain a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology with a specific focus on Practice Management.
Though originally from Micanopy, Brittney moved to the Tampa Bay area where she worked as a veterinary technician and office manager before deciding to move back home. She has several German Shepherds, her favorite breed, as well as one Shi-poo, Bobo, who can often be seen greeting clients and pets at the reception desk. In her free time, she loves to read, train and show-off her pets, as well as do anything involving the great outdoors.
Kelsea Guest — Veterinary Technician
Kelsea is currently earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Florida. She is majoring in Animal Biology with a minor in Nutritional Sciences.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball for the club team at UF and going to the beach. She also enjoys playing with her cat Oliver, who was an adoptee from Oaks Veterinary Hospital.
Justin Maddox — Veterinary Technician
Justin joined the Oaks Veterinary Hospital team in February 2016. He is a senior at University of Florida's P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School and plans to become a veterinarian. He previously worked on a local cattle farm and participated in 4H Steer Showing.
In his spare time, Justin enjoys fishing and hanging out with friends. He has a German Shepherd named Charlie, who he enjoys training.
Nick Malacarne — Veterinary Technician
Nick is a long-time animal lover with experience in both the animal and business fields. He has great attention to detail and is very involved in patient care. Nick enjoys working closely with clients to educate them on their pets' care and needs.
He has a bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's degree in Finance. Nick hopes to attend the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. At home, he has an adorable American Staffordshire Terrier, Dario, and a cute American Bully, Nina.
Catie Schultze — Veterinary Technician
Catie has years of experience working in a variety of fields including animal rescue, veterinary medicine, and grooming. She loves animals and is amazingly patient with them.
Catie shares her home with her husband Greg, two dogs, two cats, six tarantulas, two snakes, and a scorpion. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and watching Korean dramas in her spare time.
Brynna Welsh — Veterinary Technician
Brynna is originally from upstate New York, but moved down to Gainesville to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She is currently attending the University of Florida studying Animal Sciences. She especially enjoys working with dogs.
In her free time, Brynna loves to cook, read, and spend lots of quality time with her dog, Yoshi.
Alexys Velez — Veterinary Technician
Alexys currently attends the University of Florida and is studying Animal Biology and Business. She plans to earn a DVM degree with a specialization in Small Animal Medicine from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her ultimate goal is to start a boarding facility that will provide temporary housing for pets looking for new homes.
Alexys loves to run and hike with her dogs, Carlos and Dobby, as well as cuddle at home with her cats, Neville, Bellatrix and Gimli.
Savannah Maddox — Client Care Specialist
Savannah joined the Oaks Veterinary Hospital team in May 2016. She is a junior at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia and is studying Farm Management. While she does not currently live in Gainesville, Savannah works at Oaks Veterinary Hospital when she is home from college. In the past, she has participated in 4H Steer Showing and worked on a local cattle farm, giving her lots of experience with animals.
In her spare time, Savannah enjoys fishing and hanging out with friends. She has a beta fish named Lucky. Once she moves out of her dorm, she plans to get an Australian Cattle Dog or Labrador Retriever puppy.
