Code of Ethics Award

Dr. Dale Kaplan-stein was recently awarded a Code of Ethics award from the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.

Delighted to Share our Pride

Dr. Dale Kaplan-Stein and her husband Mr. Robert Kaplan-Stein are very pleased to celebrate their daughter Sara's accomplishments as a student at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After successfully completing her first 2 years as a veterinary student, Sara will be "coated" at a special ceremony in May by her proud mother. She will then begin her clinical training. Sara has worked as a technician here at Oaks Veterinary Hospital.

Bonnie Horowitz, another former Oaks technician and Sara's classmate, will be coated by her former mentor, Dr. Karen Hamerslag.

Dr. Karen Hamerslag and her husband Dr. John Shryock are delighted to announce the upcoming graduation of their daughter Elizabeth Shryock. After 4 years, Liz somehow completed with her typical intensity a law degree with honors at Georgetown and a Masters in International Relations at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where she achieved state department competency in the Russian language. She simultaneously completed internships at the Departments of Commerce and State, and served at the US consulate in St. Petersburg in Russia. Add in a few years at Georgetown's International Law Journal and part-time work at the libraries at both schools, and you have a young woman who will probably find one legal job a virtual vacation. After graduation in May, Liz will devote her summer to the Bar course to prepare for the exam in late July. After a much deserved month to relax, Elizabeth will begin her legal career in the General Counsel's Honors Program at the Department of Homeland Security. This 2 year position will allow her to handle visible, significant cases involving international legal issues, and prepare her to continue her career in government service. She will be based in Washington, D.C.
